The Abia State Ministry of Lands and Housing today handed over the survey plan of the proposed site for the building of Renewed Hope Housing Program of The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in fulfillment of his 2023 Campaign Promises.
The Director of Town Planning, Mr Chinanu Nkume, Ministry of Lands and Housing who represented his Commissioner, Hon. Chaka Chukwumaije during the exercise said that they are happy to present the proposed site which was approved by the Governor of Abia State Dr.Alex Otti to enable the Federal Ministry of Housing commence the project.
He revealed that Abia is lucky to be among the 13 States that benefited from the Renewed Hope Housing Program of The President hence the prompt allocation of the site, stating that the government is happy to provide the site to the federal government which will bring more development to the state.
The traditional ruler of Umuche autonomous community Eze A.O Chukwu- Eze Ohauga the 4 of Bende Ancient Kingdom expressed happiness over the project which is to be sitted in his community.He appreciated the President for remembering his campaign promises, also to the Governor Dr.Alex Otti for approving the land in this community.
The traditional ruler also thanked the deputy speaker Rt.Hon.Benjamin Kalu for his efforts towards actualisation of the project, adding that since he assumed office they have witnessed massive infrastructural development in the rural areas.
He Further disclosed that one of the major functions of a traditional ruler is to encourage development in their communities and that the project will bring development to his community.
The contractor of Messers Camp David Global Synergy Ltd represented by Prince Ibuchim Okorie assured their readiness to start work at the site as everything is set for the project to commence.
He also sought for a peaceful co-existence of the community during the project as it will enable them exhibit maximum speed assuring that the youth of the community will be involved in the project.
Highlight of the handover include the inspection of the land by the surveyor General ministry of lands and Housing Mr Kelechi Abaronye represented by Ezekiel Nzubechi and a warm reception of controller and team of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Mr Victor Elefuo and signing of the survey plan at the Eze’s Palace.
