Abia Poly Rector Pledges Support To Women Journalists

The rector, Abia State Polytechnic Aba, Dr Christopher Okoro says the institution will continue to partner groups as well as organisations that is aimed at bettering the welfare of the citizenry Abians.

Dr Okoro made the assertion when the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, Abia state Chapter, paid him a coutesy visit in his office in Aba.

The Rector who described their profession as a noble one, advised them to always maintian the tenets the association is known for hence their laudable contributions towards fighting against Gender Based Violence especially on the girl child urged them not to relent.

The academic Guru while recalling the activities of women in the family and society at large promised to channel some of the challenges the association realed out to the appropriate quarters and apprecieted NAWOJ on the visit.

He also pledged to continue to support policies and programs of the association in projecting the image of the state in good light.

Earlier in her address, the chairperson Nawoj Abia chapter, comrade Josephine Ogwo who noted that they are in the institution to congratulate Dr Christopher Okoro-Kalu on his recent appointment as the rector Abia state Polytechnic Aba, to also commiserate with them on the recent accident that claimed the life of a female student in their school, and to extol the starling and exemplary qualities of the rector, Dr Okoro- Kalu which according to her contributed in changing the face of the institution urging them not to relent.

she equally used the opportunity to commend the house of assembly for the move to decongest the school by relocating some faculties from Aba road to Abia Poly permanent cite at Osisioma which was attracted by the school authority led by the rector, Dr. Okoro-Kalu.

In his Contribution, the Deputy rector Admin. Dr Chizaram Oguji who described the existing relationship between Nawoj and the institution as cordial pledged for its sustainance. He urged them to always be thorough in their reportage.

In a vote of thanks, a former vice president, south east zone C, Nigrria association of women Journalists, comrade Nkasi Akomah who thanked the institution for the warm welcome accorded them urged them not to relent in their efforts towards taking the institution to a greater height.
