The member representing Umunneochi State Constituency, Hon Mathias Umeh says about 40 Undergraduates from his constituency has benefited from the four-year Bursary Award he embarked on.
Hon. Umeh who made this known on Thursday while addressing newsmen said the gesture is in fulfilment of his campaign promises to his Constituency and pledged to sustain the excersice.
The lawmaker who doubles as the vice Chairman, Committee on Education in the Abia State House of Assembly explained that the Students’ Scholarship/Bursery scheme is for selected Pupils and Students of Umunneochi, while the undergraduates are to benefit from the 2024 bursery award of #50,000 each.
He further maintained that the number of beneficiaries and the amount is bound to increase annually adding that the bursery for Pupils and Students of Primary and Secondary Schools for 2024 Batch will follow soon.
Reeling out some names of successful Pupils and Students who benefited from the bursery awards, he charged them to be seriouse with their studies and as well make good use of the stipend given to them so as to be useful to themselves and the state at large and wised them well in their feature endeavour.
