The Federal House of Representatives Member at the Green Chambers Hon. Ginger Onwusibe has described the process of the election that produces the present Chairman Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria Abia State Chapter as Credible as well as Transparent.
Onwusibe stated this during an interaction with some members of the association at his country home in Ntigha, Isialangwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Lawmaker expressed high regards to the leadership of OMPAN for their professionalism and however urged then not to relent in their reportage as it makes then to be in their feet, urging the association to always encourage the governor by letting him know where he erred in order to help him to develop the state.
He believe by reporting verbatim whatever ills identified in the government without favouring anyone will bring the best of OMPAN in terms of professionalism and standard but stressed that they can as well reach out to the government if there are concerns.
Hon. Onwusibe said his quest for quality representation in the National Assembly was as a result of the numerous circumstances that ensued during and after the 2023 election which he eventually won, bearing in mind that he’s major aim is to carry out his Legislative functions in such away it will affect his constituents positively because he has no reason to fail them.
He further reeled out key areas he has intervened since assumption of office into the National Assembly which includes, roads construction, renovation and of the Stadium, and capacity training of some constituents in the areas of Agriculture and building of classrooms blocks across his Constituencies.
Speaking on Abia issues, Hon. Onwusibe gave thumbs up to the governor Dr. Alex Otti in terms of welfare of workers, adding that the current administration of Otti cannot be compared to that of the past administration that recorded high level of mismanagement of funds.
He maintained that payments of Salaries and pensions were some primary things which they were clamouring for while in the Peoples Democratic Party that the Governor of Abia State Dr.Alex Otti has been able to fix within a short time in office.
He also stressed the need for the governor to yank off the massive employment witnessed shortly after the previous administration lost election as it was a burden to governor Otti who’s fighting to stabilise the system before more jobs will be created has been seen.
Again, Hon Onwusibe noted that the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu played a vital role in the involvement of Abia Lawmakers in various committees of the National Assembly at present.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Abia State Chapter, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro said the association identified with Hon. Ginger Onwusibe because of his developmental strides while he served from the Local Government Chairman stage to the State House of Assembly and now as a House of Representatives Member, adding that Ompan are not attack Dogs but wants to build a relationship with men like him who has capacity to deliver on the trust reposed in them by their people.
He further said the association came to support him and want to seek a collaboration that will carry out his people Oriented programmes at the grassroots as he proposed a tour to all his constituency projects.
According to Okoro, “we are not going to sell our union but to interface with leaders in order to avail the the opportunity of telling their success stories adding that We enjoy the relationship you have built with the apex leadership of the House of Representatives”.
