My Dear Fellow Bloggers,We are finally here today to witness the take off of my Revival Message for Online Media Publishers Association of Nigeria(OMPAN), Abia State chapter.I feel very delighted with the overwhelming support I received from you one week ago, during the election, I won’t take the trust for granted.
In the course of my campaigns, I outlined the following as what I intend to achieve for OMPAN within the next two years by the special Grace of God. (1) Prioritizing the Welfare of OMPAN Members (2) Unifying OMPAN (3) Restoration of the Past Glory where members will be Respected Accordingly (4) Securing a Secretariat for the Union. (5) Fostering a Close Working Relationship with the State Government. (6) Purchase of A Bus for OMPAN which will enhance our image and make us uniqueI wish to report that I have already achieved 90 Percent of the number two above as OMPAN is now back, better and one united family with one accord.
Dear colleagues, the journey to this day was not an easy one, however, I was confident having extracted your promises that I am a better candidate to lead OMPAN at this time which you validated at the polls, I will not take it for granted at all and the mandate you gave to me I will hold in trust for you.
OMPAN will take back its glory in the comity of Unions in Abia State. Let me State it categorically that in the past Bloggers in Abia were respected and revered, my leadership will ensure that the glory of OMPAN is restored once again.
I Promised to run a participatory government where every OMPAN member will have the opportunity to contribute his or her idea to the betterment of the Union, I have with the Approval of my executive constituted the following Committees:
(1) Advisory Council to be Headed by Mr Ifeanyi Okali of ABN TV
(2)Registration/Revalidation Commitee to be headed by Nneka Torti
(3) Welfare Committe to be headed by Mrs Chinwe Ugele
(4) Reconciliation Commitee to be Headed by Chief Uche Aguoru
(5) Event Commitee to be Headed by Comr Ugochukwu Nwankwo
(6) Constitution Review Committee to be Headed by Mr Chika Nwabueze
(7) Training Committee to be headed by Mrs Blessing Iroha Consequently, I hereby announce the dissolution of all previously standing committees set up by the immediate past administration.
Let me restate that I reserve the powers to dissolve any of the newly constituted committees if it is established that they deviated from their terms of Reference.
The Executive Has approved the Commencement of Membership Registration from April 1st 2024 to shore up our membership.
I cannot fail again to appreciate the immediate past Chairman Chief Patrick Anyatonwu and his entire executives who are interestingly members of my Excos, you have all done your part and it is now our time to do our best. I can assure us that we will hit the ground running immediately.
The Online Media is now part and parcel of peoples life and that is why we must do everything we can to protect this our Union.As I promised during the campaigns, we will get close to some private citizens and the bussiness class to see how we can partner together to achieve a common goal.
We will Support the Government and Criticize them when NecessaryThere will be training and retraining of our members, so that every blogger who is our members will be abreast with the 21st Century technological innovations to drive his or her platform.
My dear colleagues, among us are people who have carved a niche for themselves online, My leadership will engage them to share their success as a mark of encouragement for the rising bloggers, who are determined to make it online.
Elections are gone, this is time for the Reforms of this Union, I want to once again appeal to my opponent Mr Clinton Uba to put the interest of OMPAN first and join us to strengthen this union. I am open to receive those ideas he has in mind, so we can add it up to the one we have to realise our common objectives.
Nobody should remain with the mood of the election, let’s put the past behind us and move forward as a body.Great OMPAN members, the time is here now, let us eschew any bitterness and acrimony that will be a stumbling block in our march to greatness. So, let the change begins now.
