The Labour Party Chairman Chief Ceekey Igara in a Press briefing today disclosed the outcome of the judgment by the Appeal court in Lagos State as thus:
May I on behalf of the Labour Party, appreciate the judiciary once again for affirming the election of our governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, by the three man appeal panel.
It is another pointer that indeed the people of Abia state made the right choice. This affirmation is a proof that the mandate our party, the labour party has is inconstestable by anyone. The appeal court judges made it clear that both the PDP and the APC are chasing shadows as far as this state is concerned.
Abia is Labour and nothing can change that. While we have also seen the release by the PDP wherein they are reviewing the judgement, may I employ them to instead of going to the Supreme Court, return home and build a better Abia we all can be proud of as I am optimistic that the Supreme Court would not revert the judgements given by two other courts in favour of our candidate and the executive governor of the state, Dr. Alex Otti.
May i also use this opportunity to encourage our brothers and sisters in the opposition to join hand with His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti OFR and Labour Party Government in Abia State to deliver the actual dividends of democracy as promised to them during our campaigns without further distractions.
I therefore request everyone who’s interested in the sustenance of the development in infrastructure and other areas currently ongoing in the State to continue to pray to God Almighty for strength and wisdom to deliver.
I equally encourage our teeming members, supporters and particularly Abians and other Nigerians living in Abia State to put party politics aside and entrench their believe in the mantra of judiciary being the last hope of the common man and in the capacity of the judiciary to upholding the mandate of the people freely given to us.
Long live Abia State and the Fedeal Republic of Nigeria.Labour Party… Forward Ever, Forward Ever. Backward Never.
Hon. Ceekay Igara, Chairman Labour Party Abia State
