Abia NSCDC To Collaborate With National Human Rights To Stop Gender Based Violence

The State Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command, Commandant Usman Ishaq Alfadarai fdc, MFR, MNIM, MPA, fssc, fsin today, welcomed the Coordinator National human Rights Commission, Barrister Uche Nwokocha and her team at the Command’s Headquarters in Umuahia.

According to the released shared to newsmen by the commands PRO Doreen Udugwu noted that the visit focused on familiarization, strengthening the already existing relationship, and exploring ways to work together to stop human rights violation and gender based violence in the state.

Addressing the State Commandant, the Coordinator, said aside being appreciative to the corps for always cooperating with the commission, they are also at the command to request for more support from NSCDC especially in the areas of arrest of gender based offenders in the state.

The Commandant expressed his appreciation for the visit and reiterated the Command’s commitment to collaborate with them in putting an end to human rights abuse and gender based violence in the state.

He also mentioned that the Corp has a unit (Human Rights Unit) which ensures that the rights of our Citizens are not being abused.

In his words,”the Corps, under the leadership of Commandant General Associate Prof. AA Audi mni has zero tolerance for human right violations and I will do anything within my powers to ensure the corps in Abia State upholds the stance of the Commandant-General.

Senior officers of the NSCDC was also around during the visit by the human rights commission.
