NSCDC Captures Vandals Of Rail Lines and Accomplices

Seeks Collaboration From Citizens To Aid In The Arrest Of Criminal Elements In The State.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has again successfully dismantled yet another syndicate involved in an illicit trade of scrap metals suspected to be sourced from vandalized rail lines across the country.

This was contained in a statement made available to journalists by the comand while parading the suspects in Aba North LGA, the State Commandant UI Alfadarai fdc, MFR said they have successfully apprehended three suspects at the scene of the illegal activity.

He also disclosed that further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in this criminal enterprise, which poses a serious threat to the nation’s economy.

Alfadarai maintained that NSCDC is committed towards alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the directives of the Commandant-General, Associate Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to stem the tides of all forms of vandalism and acts of economic sabotage in the country.

It was revealed that an illegal factory operating at the 2nd Power line by Ogbosisi Uratta in Aba, Abia State by syndicate was uncovered during a raid conducted by NSCDC personnel.

During the operation, Large quantities of rail line slippers and tracks, in various stages of processing were seized, with the intention of being transported to llorin, Kwara State.

The NSCDC reaffirms its commitment to rooting out criminal elements from Abia State and beyond. Criminals operating within the state are urged by the Commandant to desist from illegal activities or face the full wrath of the law.

He said the NSCDC will spare no effort in ensuring that Abia State remains safe and secure for all law-abiding citizens calling on the public to collaborate with the NSCDC by providing credible intelligence that can aid in the apprehension of criminals.
