The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi today 29th May,2025 has announced measures to ensure adequate security in the state ahead of Biafra Day on May 30, 2025.
In his speech,He assured the public that the command is fully prepared to protect lives and property, maintain law and order, and safeguard national assets and infrastructure.
To achieve this, the Commandant said that NSCDC has put in place several security measures,the Rapid Response Squad, Tactical Team, and Counter-Terrorism Unit will conduct patrols in identified black spots and flash points.
In Addition, he noted that officers have been directed to closely supervise their subordinates to ensure adherence to operational orders. All formations have also been instructed to prioritize the security of their bases.
The Commandant emphasized that the NSCDC would not tolerate any acts of violence or destruction of property and warned that anyone found engaging in such activities would be dealt with decisively.
He assured the public that the command is working closely with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful end to the month.
Finally, Commandant Akinsola urged the public to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear. “We understand the concerns of the public and want to assure them that we have made adequate arrangements to ensure their safety and security,” he said.
The NSCDC Abia State Command remains committed to maintaining law and order and protecting the rights of all citizens,he added.
