NIPR Abia Deepens Partnership with State Police Command
…As SA to the Governor on Media Hails Chapter on Professionalism
In an effort to strengthen partnership and promote professionalism, the leadership of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Abia State Chapter has paid a courtesy call on the State Command of the Nigeria Police where it acknowledged progress being made by the law enforcement agency to enhance transparency and build public trust.
The Chapter Chairman, Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu who made the commendation when she was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa in the state capital, Umuahia said the police boss’ calm disposition, professionalism, and open-door engagement aligns with citizen-centered policing strategy, PRO of the Chapter, Promise Uzoma Okoro stated in a release.
Ralph-Nwachukwu, a Fellow of the Institute further stressed that CP Isa’s leadership has continued to build public trust through improved security coordination and regular stakeholder engagement, describing the partnership between both institutions as timely and strategic.
The Chapter Chairman according to the release further applauded the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, for her professionalism, clarity, and composure in communicating the activities of the Command, and urged her to sustain the tempo.
CP Isa in his response stressed that partnership with credible professional institutions is key to modern policing, adding that effective communication remains central to building trust and boosting security.
“He assured that the Command will continue to support engagements that strengthen public confidence and improve police–community relations.
“Reiterating his hard stance on discipline, the Commissioner declared zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct within the Command. He warned that any officer found guilty of unethical behaviour would face firm disciplinary action and prosecution where necessary, adding that accountability remains non-negotiable in Abia Police operations”, the release noted.
In the delegation include, the Vice Chairman ,Oluchi Ikechukwu; Secretary, Ori Innocent Onuoha; Assistant Secretary/ICT Officer Victor Onwuka; Treasurer, Onyinyechi Obi and the Financial Secretary, Grace Gbagi.
Others were the Public Relations Officer ,Promise Uzoma Okoro, Internal Auditor, Cletus Nwankwo ,Welfare Officer, Amaka Unamba and the Ex-Officio member, O.J bob Amanze.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, has applauded the Abia State Chapter of NIPR for its outstanding professionalism, visibility, and strategic contributions to public communication in the state.
He made the recommendation while receiving the executive members of NIPR Abia State Chapter during a courtesy visit to his office.
Describing the Institute as a highly active and impactful professional body, Ekeoma noted that NIPR has continued to strengthen strategic communication practice and enhance government–citizen engagement in Abia State, the Chapter PRO, Promise Uzoma Okoro said in a release.
He quoted the SA as assuring that the administration remains committed to supporting the Institute to deepen its positive impact.
‘You people have been very visible and require all necessary support to continue deepening the impact you are making in the state,’ Ekeoma affirmed.
He further emphasized that a proper appreciation of the Institute’s contributions can only come from a strong understanding of media professionalism, stressing the importance of credible and strategic government communication.
Earlier in her remarks, Chairman, Abia State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu who led the delegation expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Special Adviser for his professionalism, strategic media leadership, accessibility, and consistent support for the Institute.
The release quoted her as emphasising that beyond projecting government activities, Ekeoma has continued to demonstrate credibility, strategic thinking, and respect for ethical media practice, qualities she said have helped strengthen public confidence in government messaging.
