Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has announced that his administration will be commissioning multiple projects across the state within the next 30 days. Speaking at his 2nd Year Anniversary Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held at Ibeku High School, Umuahia, Governor Otti listed the projects to include Primary Healthcare Centres, Smart Schools, Retrofitted School Buildings, and Roads.

The Governor expressed his commitment to transforming Umuahia into a thriving capital city, saying, “Umuahia will continue to wear a new look. It would continue to look like a State Capital. Gone are the days when they used to tell us that our State Capital looks like a glorified village. It will never be again in Jesus’ name.”

Governor Otti highlighted the progress made so far, stating that at least half of the 200 Primary Healthcare Centres spread across the 184 wards are ready for commissioning. He also mentioned that 2 of the 20 Smart Schools are ready for commissioning, while the remaining 18 are receiving serious attention. Additionally, 221 schools are at various stages of rebuilding and retrofitting.

The Governor emphasized the importance of thanking God for the progress made in Abia State, saying, “We are here to thank God. Because when you listen to people, they would say, we worked well for this mandate. It’s always good for us to realize that it is God that gives the increase.” He thanked the guest speaker, Rev. Sam Oye, for his devotion and prayers for Abia State.

Rev. Sam Oye, Lead Pastor of The Transforming Church, recalled how God showed him in 2022 the prosperity that awaits Abia State under Governor Otti’s leadership. He prophesied that Abia would experience significant economic growth, becoming a hub for technology, agriculture, and SMEs. “Abia will become a centre for leathers and garments, vibrant SMEs Capital of Africa. Abia shall become the largest technology hub in Africa. Abia will become a leading Agricultural State and will become an excellently governed State,” Rev. Oye stated.

Pastor Amara Uwaeziozi, President of Master’s Vessel Church, Worldwide, also praised Governor Otti’s administration, highlighting the improvements in road infrastructure, workers’ welfare, and traffic management. He urged Abians not to allow the good governance being witnessed in Abia to be changed, saying, “Ndị Abia, we have seen good governance. We will not allow it to be changed because we have seen good governance.”

The 2 Years Anniversary Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service featured prayers for the Governor and Government of Abia State, as well as musical performances by popular Abia-born gospel artist Buchi and various choirs.

The event was attended by many dignitaries, who came together to celebrate the progress made in Abia State under Governor Otti’s leadership and to pray for continued success in the years to come.
