The Abia State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education to its citizens.
Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu FNSE made this assertions shortly after the just concluded Children’s Day celebration which held at the Umuahia township stadium of the state
According to the Deputy Governor, the government of Dr. Alex Otti’s led administration is dedicated to creating a conducive educational atmosphere for school children.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance education in the state, including the implementation of free education from basic to secondary level in all government schools.
Engr Emetu also noted that the government is retrofitting dilapidated government school buildings to create better learning environments, emphasizing the government’s vision to set educational standards through digital literacy, enabling students to compete effectively with their peers across the country.
Furthermore, while wishing the children a memorable children’s day celebration, Emetu revealed that government has promised to establish more smart schools, providing students with opportunities to experience quality education, adding that the initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve the educational sector and equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in life.
