Youth Party, YPP Agree to Work Together in Abia come 2023

The Youth Party (YP), has pledged to synergise with the Young Progressive Party (YPP), to give the Nigerian youth a strong footing ahead of 2023 General Elections.

The representative of the party and Chairman in Abia State, Hon. Onyekachi Okorie, who stated this on Saturday in Umuahia during a Seminar on youth involvement in Nigerian Politics, said if youth are allowed to get involved in politics, various misgivings and agitations on the part of youth will reduce.

He noted that calls for restructuring in Nigeria, echoed by the youth, is as a result of the inability of the government spear-headed by old politicians to provide purposeful leadership, stressing that the youth have better ideas to effect positive change in the country.

Comrade Onyekachi cited the ENDSARS protests and other protests as pointers to the fact that the youth are fed up with the octogenarians in politics, maintaining that amidst all these, the Youth Party has mobilised its members at the National and State levels, to key into the philosophy of liberating the country amid bad governance,

He pledged the resolve of the Youth Party, Abia State chapter to partner YPP in giving youth of Abia hope especially in the area of engaging with sound minds and lofty ideas in a bid to bring sustainable development which has eluded the country for long.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman, Young Progressive Party, YPP, Abia State, Hon. Uzodinma Nwoko, said Youth are life wire of every nation, adding that having them in the political sphere, will bring about rapid growth as well as sustain development.

He said Youth have innovative ideas and are susceptible to change, adding that the proper use of internet is key to achieving their ideas just as it will help them make meaningful impacts.

Also speaking, the Senator Representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Uba represented by the Anambra State Publicity Secretary YPP, Prince Oforbuike, lauded the YPP in the state, led by Comrade Nwoko, for the success recorded in the state. He urged them to make the party open for people to join, expressing optimism that the party will get stronger before 2023.

On his part, YPP Deputy Governorship Candidate in 2019, Comrade Prince Ukpere, harped on the need for Youth to take over the leadership of Nigeria. He said leadership at all levels have failed the citizens, noting that with the right approach, zeal, commitment, YPP in Abia will be a force to reckon with, advising party faithful to market the party anywhere they are.
