The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Ph.D., mni, OFR, embarked on an operational tour of Abia State on July 16, 2025. The visit aimed to evaluate the performance of personnel on the ground and strengthen operational effectiveness.

The Commandant addressed officers and men of the Command at the parade ground of the Abia State headquarters, raising concerns over asymmetric warfare and rising criminal activities.

He emphasized the NSCDC’s mandate to protect critical national infrastructure and assured that the Corps is doubling down on efforts to confront threats.

Professor Ahmed Abubakar commended the State Commandant, CC Akinsola Aderemi, and commissioned an office complex built at the State Command headquarters.

The Commandant General assured personnel of the Corps’ commitment to capacity development, timely payment of entitlements, and improved insurance cover.

Then he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, and appreciated the support received from the state government.

On his speech,Governor Otti commended the NSCDC for professionalism and pledged sustained support for the Corps and other security agencies.
The CG noted that the NSCDC’s efforts align with the national security agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at securing lives, properties, and the nation’s future.
