Fast-rising music star Stanley Didia aka Omah Lay has expressed fulfilment with the turnout of the crowd at his December event, which was held in PortHarcourt, Rivers State.
Omah Lay ended 2021 with a homecoming concert that had the Port Harcourt Polo Club ground filled with fans and music enthusiasts.
According to those who should know, the event had almost 7000 fans and music enthusiasts in attendance.
“It’s a dream come true for me to headline my own show for the first time before my own people. I grew up in this community among these people and it just feels surreal for me to stand before a massive crowd in Port Harcourt. Nothing compares to this feeling. Today will continue to occupy a special place in my heart.”
The homecoming concert had Omah Lay headlining the show with other music acts from Lagos including popular disc jockey, DJ Spinall, Bella Shmurda, Buju, Ajebo Hustlers, AV, and 1da Banton.
Omah Lay broke into the scene in May 2020 with the release of his critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Get Layd’ and hasn’t quite slowed down. In the same year, he was arrested in Uganda for performing against COVID-19 restrictions alongside Tems but was quick to get over the setback.
In 2021, he released two singles – Understand and Free my Mind – against the backdrop of two EPs in 2020 but filled up the year with tour dates including his hugely successful Purple Tour in the United States. Omah Lay is set to release his debut album ‘Boy Alone’ in 2022.
