Nweke Secures APGA Guber Ticket of Enugu State
The one time minister of Information and Communication, Mr Frank Nweke Jr. has been declared winner of the primary election under the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.
The election which held at Amadeo event centre Enugu also had other aspirants which includes: Ude Donatus, Obi Donatus and Nwaebo Uchenna.
Announcing the result by the Returning Officer and the electoral committee chairman Chief Uchenna Okogbuo declared the former minister winner of the election with a total of 273 votes to defeat Jeff Nnamani who polled 267 votes.
On the other hand, Donatus Ude polled 2 Votes and Obi Donatus 3 votes while Nwaebo Uchenna got 9 votes.
Okogbuo gave the number of delegates to be 732 while the number of accrediteded voters were 555.
Frank Nweke in his acceptance speech applauded the leadership of the party in the state and national as well as the delegates for their conducts.
He described the process as very transparent and called on other aspirants to join hands with him as the ultimate goal is to have an APGA government in Enugu State.
He acknowledged the enormous task ahead and called for commitment and dedication to service.
He thanked the electoral committee for the great job they have done and expressed optimism that APGA would form the next government in the state adding that he would soon reveal his manifesto in the coming days.
