The Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Usman Ishaq Alfadarai fdc, MFR, today welcomed the Executive Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Limited, Ibe Chimaobi, and his team to the Command’s Headquarters in Umuahia.
The visit aimed to explore a collaborative effort to combat the sale and distribution of adulterated petroleum products in the state.
During the meeting, Professor Olamide Onipede, Head of Technology at Quality Assurance and Quality Control Limited, spoke about their Mobile Laboratory Kit; an innovative tool for on-the-spot testing of petroleum products’ authenticity.
According to him, the kit offers numerous benefits, including rapid testing and enhanced product safety.Mr. Ibe Chimaobi, Executive Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Limited, emphasized the need for partnership, acknowledging that combating adulterated petroleum products requires a joint effort and NSCDC is the best choice for them to achieve their goal especially that it falls within the primary mandates of the Corps.
While responding to the visitors, Commandant Alfadarai expressed his appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties by eradicating the sale of adulterated petroleum products, which can lead to hazardous situations.
He said the partnership between NSCDC and Quality Assurance and Quality Control Limited marks a step towards safeguarding the public and promoting quality standards in the petroleum industry which has been the policy thrust of his administration in the state.
He assured him of his readiness to partner and work together for the benefit of the country.
