Justice, Equity and Equality Vital Factors for Nation’s Building- Olusegun Obasanj

The Nigeria’s former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has identified Justice, equity, equality among other factors as vital for nation building, adding that no family,community, State and Country can progress without the application of these factors.

The former president stated this in a debate competition organised by the management of Vision Africa Radio in conjunction with the State Ministry of Education with the theme “The Development of a Nation’s Sound Education System Ensures Security More Than Military Actions.”

Earlier, the Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu described the former president Chief Obasanjo as a true Nationalist who has left worthy legacies for upcoming leaders in the country also

appreciated him for finding time to visit the state as part of the activities marking his 85th birthday anniversary.

The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to Abia State Government Barr. Chris Ezem lauded the President vision Africa Radio, Bishop Sunday Onuoha and the State Ministry of Education for organising the debate competition, pointing out that it will help in building better youths that will be great leaders in future and assured the management, Government’s continued partnership with the station.

Chief Obasanjo while Presenting the trophies to the winners of the debate competition from various schools across the state congratulated them and advised them to cultivate the habit of being good communicators and skillful in their studies to enable them excel in life’s endeavours.

In his speech, the president, Vision Africa Radio Bishop Sunday Onuoha thanked the former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for finding time to visit while Commending the Education friendly Governor,Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for reforming and revamping the education sector, adding that over two hundred and thirty five schools have participated in the various editions of the competition.

The participants of the school include Immaculate International school who took the first position, Standard International School, that took the 2nd position and Ndume Otuka community school who came third among others.

The programme featured Top Government functionaries including the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim,PDP Stalwart Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Commissioner for Information and Strategy Barr. Eze chikamnayo, Commissioner for Basic Education, Chief Ukwu Rocks Emma, Commissioner for Documentation, Chief Ugochukwu Emezue and many stakeholders in the education sector attended the event.
