How Clergies Saves Cathedral Bookshop From Being Razed Down

An early morning Sunday fire outbreak has razed down the Cathedral Bookshop of the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Umuahia, Abia State.

The cathedral Archdeacon, Venerable Joel Osondu Agbo who annonced the incident during Sunday worship observed that despite alerts on the fire incident put across to the state fire service in Umuahia, yet there was no response.

Giving more insight on the fire incident, Venerable Agbo regretted that despite calls made by worshippers including the Bishop, Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi and some top Government functionaries to the fire fighters could not change the situation.

He disclosed that it was the efforts of the Clergies who fought gallantly to ensure that the fire incident was put off even as the value of the total damage is yet to be ascertained and the cause of the outbreak at the time of filing the report.
