Heads, MDAs Of Federal Establishments In Abia Engage In Physical Walk

To Improve Their Health Regular exercise has been identified as essential for overall health and well-being with it’s numerous benefits including; weight management, cardiovascular health, improvement of mental health, better sleep and strengthening of bone density among others.

The Association of Federal Heads of Establishments on Saturday took their health by their hands to improve their well-being for a better lifestyle as they walked and jogged round Umuahia , the state capital.

The Chairman of the Association Mrs. Abiakam Gloria while addressing members shortly after the exercise, encouraged them not to relent while assuring that subsequent events will be more exciting and enjoyable. Abiakam appreciated all the Heads of MDAs who participated during the exercise, noting that their enthusiasm and energy made it a success.

She recounted the health benefits of regular exercise which according to her cannot be overemphasised, adding that regular physical activity increases energy levels, reduce fatigue and improve overall well-being.

The Federal Road Safety Commandant represented by the Sector Command Deputy Corp, Commander Victor Ogwnnupi, encouraged other members to identify with them while calling for more sensitization for the event to attract more members.

Ogwnnupi noted that this is the only unifying factor that brings them together once a month as a body, stressing that exercise helps in weight management He added that it helps to maintain a healthy weight, reduce body fat, and build muscle, saying it is also part of the cardiovascular health which also help to strengthen the heart, lowers blood pressure, and improves circulation.

According to the Financial Secretary of the association Mrs Lilian Eze, who revealed that regular exercise enhances brain functions which improves concentration, memory, and problem-solving skills.

She maintained that exercise reduces the risk of chronic diseases, lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and heart disease amongst other health benefits. She however, thanked everyone for the show of support for those that availed themselves the opportunity of a healthy lifestyle while calling on their members to join them in subsequent outing.

Remember, every bit counts, and even small amounts of exercise can have significant health benefits.
