The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Gavice Logistics today partners Abia State Government through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Entertainment on Grants empowerment programme set out for the start-up of businesses in the state.
Addressing Journalists during a press conference at Government House, the MD/CEO of Gavice Logistics, Mr.Tochukwu Ahamba disclosed that a 10 Million Naira grant has been made available, which will be disbursed among 20 people with each of them getting a grant of #500,000 each.
Mr. Ahamba while enumerating the processes involved in the Gavice Foundation noted that this grant disbursement will be done yearly, while stating that a panel of professionals have been set up to navigate through the various applications process.
Earlier in his remark, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Entertainment, Dr. Okey Justice Martins aka J.Martins stated that this grant application is open to every business owner, as long as the business is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission
Mr Martins while commending the MD of Gavice Logistics for the innovative ideas also noted that Private and Public partnership is encouraged to assist the government in fulfilling their promises to better the lives of the citizens especially now that the country is facing through various challenges.
Martins maintained that to ameliorate the hardship faced by Nigerians through the introduction of various programmes and partnership with international Agencies like the World bank, African Development Bank, Afrexim etc, Gavice Logistics decided to start this programme in Abia State with the intention to support SMEs in the State.
