A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, Martin Ikechukwu Apugo has called on the Abia State government to review the easing of the lockdown directives in the State by ensuring more food provisions are made available to the people of the state.
Martin who made this known while delivering palliatives to the people of Umuahia North at the Apugo resident, said the people will be exposed to more danger of contracting the disease if nothing is done to review the orders as issued by the government of Abia state.
He added that the state government should have taking full responsibility in making sure palliatives such as food and money is constantly provided to cushion the effects of the disease so as to enable the people observe the safety guidelines giving by health experts.
“Well,I don’t know what to say, but what the government suppose to do is to bring out more money and share the palliatives and tell people to stay indoors”,they should review the lockdown policy and no what to do as a matter of urgency, coronavirus is still in nigeria.”
The Federal House of representative candidate of APC in 2019,faulted the manner the state government has responded to issues of the covid -19 index patients, saying the level of hunger and untold hardship it has created in the state has been so worrisome.
Bags of Rice and money were constantly delivered to a large number of people by ochiagha oparaukwu Ibeku ,Prince BB Apugo over a week now, the gesture was meant to allivate the poverty that Coronavirus and the effects of the lockdown was bringing to the people.
One of the beneficiaries ,Ndubuisi Obi expressed excitement at the relief extended to them by Prince Apugo in arresting hunger which has posed a threat at this challenging time.
“What BB Apugo is doing is a good and welcome development to us ,as we never expected to benefit up what he has given us, though Ochiagha has been given out food items including the sum of Ten Thousand to everyone since last week.”
“Inspite the number of people here which are over 500 hundred,social distancing is maintained and we are abiding by the directives of the government by putting on our face mask.”
Another beneficiary,Okorie Amarachi prayed that God bless Apugo for remembering the indigents of the society by providing food for them.
