Following the fast spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria, the President Vision Africa International and Co-Chair Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace Bishop Dr. Sunday Onuoha has called on Nigerians to stay at home and live or go outside and die.
Bishop Dr. Onuoha who made the call in Umuahia in a statement issued to newsmen on the backdrop of the rapid spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic, regretted that despite the massive sensitization and cases of infection recorded in the country, Nigerians still flout the sit-at-home order while roaming the streets as though nothing is amiss.
The Global Peace Award Winner, 2013, cautioned Nigerians to be wary of the predictions made by international agencies, including the World Health Organisation (WHO), individuals concerning high level deaths in Africa if the Virus should spread as a result of people’s nonchalance and neglect.
The Executive Director, Nigeria Interfaith Action Association (NIFAA). said having started well in the fight, it is disheartening how Nigeria has suddenly recorded alarming cases of Infections due to the continuous disobedience of people to the sit-at-home order, pleading with Nigerians to stay at home and stay safe.
Bishop, Dr. Onuoha also used the medium to call on government at all levels to assist the people by making palliatives available and addressing other issues of concerns which force people outside their homes while also advising that these palliatives should be conveyed to homes to avoid social gathering which may lead to the spread of the Virus.
