Capacity Building workshop for NACTAL, NAPTIP, NIS and NPF on the Use of Social Media to Tackle TIP and SOM.
The A-TIPSOM Commenced a two days Capacity Building workshop for the Network Against Child trafficking, Abuse and Labour NACTAL, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person, the Nigerian Immigration Service and the Nigerian Police Force on the use of social media to tackle Trafficking in Person and Smuggling in Migrants in Nigeria.
The facilitator of the program Mr Runcie C.W in his teachings said that social media platforms has gone above posting pictures and videoson Instagram, adding that government agencies now use it for advertising, scheduling programmes, information dissemination among others.
The president of NACTAL Mallam Abdulganiyu Abubakar while thanking the participants of the workshop which was drawn from different agencies expressed satisfaction towards members of the southeast of NACTAL, adding that the sense of their maturity during the entire workshop is highly commendable.
He encouraged members to however, be proactive assuring them that more of the projects will be held in the south east.
The president also emphasised on the need to use social media platforms as a tool to tackle human Trafficking stating that it is not just for posting pictures and videos, but social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter among others are important tools for business advertising, promoting organizational interest, and marketing information.
