Ban on Almajiris: Bishop Onuoha Asks – Are They Not Nigerians?

Following the ban on Almajiris in some parts of Nigeria, the President Vision Africa International and Co-Chair Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace , Bishop, Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha has posed a question inquiring the whereabouts of the Almajiris.

In series of tweets on Thursday via his official twitter handle @vasundayonuoha the Methodist Bishop posed the question, “Who else observed that the Almajiris are off the streets because of the ban”?

In the tweet, the Global Peace Award Winner, 2013 , added that he was tempted to ask, where the Almajiris have suddenly gone to, wondering if they were not the same people spotted on queues during elections.

Bishop, Dr. Onuoha pondered over the condition and welfare of the Almajiris, adding that it could be that those they voted for have suddenly decided to care for them now that they have been asked to leave the streets.

He concluded by stressing that the above questions demand urgent/serious answers from anyone that knows the whereabouts of these vulnerable Nigerians.
