As the issue of State of Origin, continues to be a considering factor in appointment among others, the Co-Chair Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace Bishop Dr Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, is of the opinion that continuous insistence on state of Origin for appointment further divides Nigeria as a Nation.
Bishop Onuoha, who spoke in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital on Friday, said it is important that as Nigeria is identifying issues that cause division in the country, the issue of where one comes from before appointment is given, should be looked into with a view to arresting the hydra-headed monster.
Identifying the essence of peace and inclusiveness of all in the scheme of things, the President Vision Africa International, noted that if leaders at all levels are sincere about galvanising Nigerians and achieving an egalitarian society, a citizen of Nigeria irrespective of State, geo-political zone, should secure appointment in any of the States of the country.
Bishop Onuoha, who decried the level of disunity, hatred among people of different geopolitical zones, added that if leaders in Nigeria sourmount this challenge, the country will cease to be divided among religious, ethnic and political lines.
The Global Peace Award Winner 2013, urged the Federal and State Governments to abolish the issue of State of Origin as this will end all hatred, disunity, agitations among others in the country.
While acknowledging that in some developed countries like U.S, there are no State of Origin, Bishop Dr. Onuoha also contended that the level of development in those countries continues to stand out because individuals are engaged in responsibilities without considering their state of Origin.
