The State House of Assembly has passed into law HAB 5 : ” The Abia State Donor Agency Trust Fund Bill, 2019″ sponsored by the member representing Umuahia South, Hon. Jerry Uzosike and others.
The bill which is for the establishment of the Donor Agency Trust Fund in the state and other matters connected therewith, provides for the setting aside of two percent of the annual capital expenditure of the state for the funding of the Agency.
Announcing the passage of the bill into law during plenary, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji said the law when assented to will be deemed to have come into force on the 10th day of February, 2020.
The House also passed for first reading HAB 16: “The Abia State Agency for Free Home Healthcare Services Bill, 2019” sponsored by the Majority Leader, Mr Solomon Akpulonu.
The state House of Assembly during plenary entertained three petitions brought before it by the Chairman, Committee on Public Petitions, Chief Emeka Okoroafor and committed them to the House Committee on Public Petitions to investigate and report back in three weeks.
The House adjourned to reconvene tomorrow (Tuesday 11/2/2020) by 10am.
