Abia House of Assembly Speaker: APC Chieftain, Senator Chris Adighije Drum Support For Ikwuano/Umuahia Bloc

Barely Two weeks to the Inauguration of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, a Former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chieftain of the All Progressive Party in Abia State Senator Chris Adighije has drummed support for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency for the Post of the Speakership of the Abia State House of Assembly.

Senator Adighije’s Support is coming barely 48hours the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Senator Adolphus Wabara urged other Contenders to step Down for the Umuahia Zone to Produce the 11th Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.

Speaking to Newsmen at his Olokoro country home on Monday May 27th 2019, the APC chieftain maintained that “for the sake of equity and justice, it is only fair that Ikwuano/Umuahia be allowed to produce the next speaker”.

According to Senator Adighije, ” Abia South is currently holding on to the Governorship position, Abia North has the deputy Governorship slot, it is only natural for Abia Central to produce the Speaker.”

“When it comes into Abia Central, narrow it down. Our brothers from the Ngwa axis has held the position and the Governor is also from the Ngwa extraction, sound judgement should tell us that Ikwuano/Umuahia deserves to produce the next speaker.”

The elder statesman advised the members to realize that they are one, all serving the interest if the state and should therefore shun all manners of infighting as elections has come and gone.
