Abia State House of Assembly has today resumed plenary after about eight weeks of recess, The House commenced its on recess on the 16th day of July.
The House also screened Commissioner nominees. The screening follows a correspondence from the office of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Speaker of the House, Chinedum Orji while welcoming members back from recess appreciated God for preserving their lives to reconvene for another Legislative deliberations.
The House through a voice vote however, passed a vote of confidence on the speaker for his people oriented leadership especially for giving the hallowed chamber the desired look befitting for quality deliberations.
This was followed by the first assignment on resumption; the screening of the nominees.
As expected, some former members of the house were granted Legislative privileges as they took a bow.
A total of nine persons were screened by the house, Among the nine persons, four enjoyed Legislative privilege of taking a bow, while five others were thoroughly grilled by the lawmakers.
Those screened are, Kalu Uduma, Chijioke Madumere, Theophilus Ugboaja and Emmanuel Nwabuko.
Others includes, Adimoha, Ahamefula Uko,Solomon Ogunji, Gabriel Onyendilefu and Ezekwesiri Ananaba.
The screening continues tomorrow, 24th September 2019.
