Ibekwe further decried that previous governments failed to fulfill their campaign promises but expressed optimism that with Bishop Onuoha, Abians will smile again.

Responding, the Governorship candidate of ADC, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha recalled that the former governor, Orji Uzor Kalu who served the state as a businessman, and an administrator, Theodore Orji has come and gone, with the present governor an academician serving and now it is the time for Abians to support an academician and God’s servant to govern the state.

He maintained that a new Abia is possible with the support of eligible voters.

Bishop Onuoha went down memory lane to recall that the founding fathers named the state “Abia” during one of their meetings in the Church, but regretted that the activities in the state does not promote or represent the name, “God’s own state”.

He promised to entrench and elevate the state where people will feel loved, as well as discourage hatred.
